Checklist Templates
A checklist template is a reusable question list. Audits do not share it β each audit takes its own copy when the template is chosen, so a template edited next year leaves last year's audits exactly as they were answered.
The recordβ
- Code and name.
- Audit type β which audit type this list is for. Leaving it empty makes the template available to every type.
- Default β whether an audit of that type should take this list unless told otherwise.
- Scored β whether answers produce a number. See Scoring.
- Questions β built in the survey designer.
Building the questionsβ
The designer is the same one used elsewhere in the system, with three extra properties registered for audit work:
- Score and conformity on each choice,
- Weight on each question.
They appear only in this designer; the other survey screens do not show them.
How they add up is described in Scoring. The short version: the choice's score times the question's weight, with "not applicable" answers removed from both sides of the fraction.
Questions that take free text, a file or a date carry no score. Mixing them in among scored questions is normal β the evidence an auditor attaches to a question is often the point of asking it.
Not scoredβ
A template marked not scored produces no number. Its questions are still answered, still recorded, and still raise findings; there is simply nothing to total.
Use it where a percentage would be misleading β a certification readiness walkthrough, a first-visit survey.
Default templatesβ
Marking a template default means an audit of its audit type takes it automatically. The auditor can still change it on the planning screen, unless the audit type locks the question list.
Only one template per audit type is the default; setting a second one stands the first down.
